2026美加墨世界盃冠軍戰，阿根廷尋求衛冕失敗，90分鐘沒有任何射門，寫下難堪戰役，39歲的前世界盃球王梅西（Lionel Messi），預料最後一舞，不但未能奪冠也沒有進球，痛失本屆金靴獎與世界盃歷史射手王。

法國球星姆巴佩（Kylian Mbappé）昨於季軍戰，面對英格蘭攻進2球，不僅超越梅西登上今年世界盃射手榜首位，也以22球總進球數，1球之差躍居世界盃歷史進球榜第一。

姆巴佩昨預言梅西會再度進球，但明顯遭到西班牙嚴密控管，最終進球數掛蛋，本季累積8球進球，爭奪金靴獎失利，全場54次觸球，16次傳球，3次過人機會全部成功。
